Installation Process

Our team of trained propane professionals are here to help you through the process of installing a propane tank at your home or business. A licensed professional must install your propane tank and a resident or company employee must be present during the installation.

Schedule Your Installation

Once you speak with an New Flame representative, our experts may need to perform a site survey at your location to decide the best place and size for your tank. A site survey, if necessary, usually occurs within a week of contacting us. Since we know the local regulations, we will also provide guidance regarding permits or paperwork. If a site survey is not needed, we will typically be able to schedule your tank installation within seven business days.

Our Representatives will be able to guide you with information on above ground tank installation or swapping out an existing above ground tank for an New Flame tank, usually takes only a couple of hours, up to a half day.

Installation Process

For an above ground propane tank, we will put a concrete blocks in place before we install your tank.  The New Flame service crew will lift and place the tank on its concrete pad. After the tank has been set and leveled, we will run the propane gas lines and test the system for leaks. A delivery driver will then fill the tank with propane.

For safe and accurate installation of your propane tank, installation guidelines must be followed. General requirements are listed below, and New Flame experts are here to help you every step of the way.

Distance requirements apply to propane tanks and their connections in terms of what surrounds them. Consideration needs to be made as to where you can legally and safely place your tank. Factors include whether the property is your office or home, and how far the tank is from other tanks, driveways, awnings and the property line.

Permit requirements for propane tank installations vary by state and municipality. All regulations and codes must be followed. New Flame representatives can assist you in determining what requirements apply to your property, and often are able to help you satisfy them.
